Celebrating Multiple Birth Awareness Week March 17-24 and combining with Easter  Please ensure you register for this FREE event. It will help us with planning for sausages and Easter eggs for all attendees.   About the event: There will be an epic Easter egg hunt, an amateur photographer for family photos, face painting, a sausage sizzle, and even an appearance from the main bunny himself. Real bunnies will be joining us for cuddles and gentle pats. Clear your schedule for this special afternoon! Thank you, and see you there. These toys don't need to be new, but we ask that they be in good condition. About Multiple Birth Awareness Week (MBAW): The 2024 Multiple Birth Awareness Week theme is 'Multiples unfiltered. Tell your story. Find your community.' The experience of bringing multiple birth babies into the world is a huge journey with huge stories. We want to share those stories, unfiltered. Multiple birth families need more support in Australia. Multiples are more likely to face greater challenges in their early years, necessitating additional dedicated support. In Australia, families with multiples receive no additional support, notwithstanding the modest Multiple Birth Allowance afforded to higher order multiples and subject to rigid means testing. Only 11% of parents of multiples in Australia feel adequately supported by the programs and policies in place. It is time for a change! This Multiple Birth Awareness Week we are asking parents, grandparents, friends, caregivers and anyone who thinks multiples need more support to get involved! Find out more here.  

Our current EAMBA Rules (constitution) haven't been updated since 2008. It is recommended to update these rules every 3-5 years. Because these updates haven't been done regularly, our current Rules vary greatly from the Consumer Affaris Victoria (CAV) 'Model Rules for an Incorporated Association'  2012 template that is recommended to be used by CAV and AMBA.  In fact some mandatory rules are either not included or are significantly different to the current recommended wording. The proposed Rules have been written with input and feedback from our 2023 and 2024 committee, an external consultant, and AMBAs Governance Officer, Daila Mohr.  Members of our committee have reviewed the AMBA Rules and other affiliate clubs' rules; and are confident that these proposed Rules mirror these examples. The final edit of these Rules will be sent out late this month to be voted on by members at our April AGM. So what do we need from you? We are hosting this meeting for our members to hear about the changes and provide feedback before the final version is sent out later this month. It is important to consult with our members on this document. Whether you can attend this session or not, you are welcome to submit feedback in writing to secretary@eamba.amba.org.au. All feedback should be submitted in the form of: Rule Number Current wording Proposed wording Feedback should be submitted by midday on Tuesday 12th March so that your feedback can be discussed at the meeting. Further feedback will then be accepted until end of day Saturday 16th March so that we can send a final draft to AMBA for review. In order for us to cover as many items as possible in this meeting we ask all attendees to read the attached and send feedback prior to the meeting. We will then prioritise discussion on the areas with the most feedback. The Eastern Area Multiple Birth Association (EAMBA) is hosting a fundraising evening at Grill'd Croydon on Thursday, February 29 from 5pm - 8pm. Grill'd is offering a $25 burger and chips deal, with $10 from every deal purchased on the evening going to EAMBA. The offer is available for dine in or takeaway! Bring the family for a fun morning out at Little Rascals Playcentre in Ferntree Gully.  All are welcome! Little Rascals is a small and cosy playcentre suitable for kids 7 and under. But that doesn't mean big kids can't come along and join the fun too! This event is also open to expectant parents who want to meet other EAMBA members. There's play equipment suited for babies, a jumping castle for the bigger kids and lots of couches for the parents. Due to the popularity of the Super Mario Brothers movie event during the autumn school holidays, we're excited to offer another movie event this winter. This time, we have tickets to two movies: Cats in the Museum (sensory session) at 11.30am Elemental at 12 noon  Tickets are valued at $9 per ticket and are FREE for EAMBA members - funded by the Knox City Council grant.  Movie only or Combo movie, food and drink tickets available for pre-purchasing discounted candy bar items.
